Lists with This Book. Every so often I come across one of those books where the entire way through I’m thinking I absolutely LOVED this series, but this book ruined everyone’s characters while being straight up depressing and infuriating. Kostos still gets 5 stars. I love that guy and he was the only part I kept reading for. The story takes place 10 years later so the girls are all 29 and living in different areas.

Somehow I wasn’t aware of the major spoi Every so often I come across one of those books where the entire way through I’m thinking I absolutely LOVED this series, but this book ruined everyone’s characters while being straight up depressing and infuriating. Here’s a brief summary of everyone’s story minor spoilers: Carmen is a size 0 actress living in NYC and engaged to some semi-famous guy she doesn’t love. She has an iPhone and is therefore shallow.
Tibby moved to Australia with Brian and secretly view spoiler [found out she was sick, had a kid, and then wrote everyone a bunch of letters to plan their lives out for them so they could all end the story living on a farm together. Not sure where they’re all going to work but whatever hide spoiler ].
Bridget is living with Eric, who is practically a saint for putting up with her need to constantly relocate. Like the guy comes home from work and their stuff is gone and she’s all “oh we don’t live here anymore.
She just randomly calls up Eric later and tells him to meet her somewhere and There needs to be something more than a kiss omg. His entire character felt so unrealistic and was just there to spout cheesy lines hide spoiler ]. And they used to be my favorite couple so that everlastjng sad.
Lena was always my favorite and I still liked her story here, but she was even more afraid of everything than when she was younger. I really loved her story of getting her grandparent’s house in Greece set up to sell And the initial stuff with Kostos was the ONLY redeeming part of the book, but then at the end it turned into even more cheesy, emotionless filler.
The whole thing felt so canned, cliche, and Like it started all of these ideas without ever seeing anything through in a satisfying way. I did like a few parts, but am pretty disappointed overall. I love these girls and they all deserved better.

Ann Brashares – Sisterhood Everlasting (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) – Trade Paperback
Why did I bother? Okay, I know why. I tend to do better with audiobooks that require less concentration and offer an engaging story that’s not too challenging. And although I didn’t have high hopes for the fifth fifth! Am I actually still reading these?
If I tell you the pivotal plot point it will be a big fat spoiler, so I’ll try to gripe about the book without doing that. As What was I thinking? As usual, I have several complaints. Wish fulfillment and emotional manipulation. And much later, after a continued period of no contact, said boyfriend drops everything to come across the country to meet you? And when you drop a major bomb on this same boyfriend, all he cares about is YOUR feelings?
Sisterhood Everlasting (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, book 6) by Ann Brashares
And really, would I want a long-term relationship with a guy who was so short on backbone or opinions? How genuine can this love really be if the guy doesn’t even take it personally when she disappears?
Lena and Kostas, I just have one word: Again with the back and forth? Again with the fear of revealing feelings in the context of this supposedly loving relationship? Not to mention children who immediately win the hearts of women with absolutely no childcare experience, both of whom thought they never wanted kids but almost instantly changed their minds when faced with these angelic cherubs who love them immediately and never throw tantrums.
Don’t get me started on the ending, where the girls suddenly inherit a house from someone who supposedly had financial problems. And the ridiculously prescient letters. Yet another instance of the incredible wisdom-cum-ESP foisted on the dying.
We haven’t even gotten to Carmen’s incredible superficiality, leading up to the unbelievable turnaround where she does a and becomes deep again.
And the jerky guy she’s dating, despised by all except her. Carmen really gets more idiotic in every book. The girls haven’t grown up. The few changes they’ve made are somewhat ridiculous and over the top. Three out of four are with the same guys even.
I will not read the next book. View all 31 comments. Mar 28, Jenny rated it it was amazing Shelves: I’ll write an official review closer to the brashare date but I will tell you I have never cried so much during a book except maybe one of the previous Sisterhood books. I stayed up half the night reading this book. I couldn’t put it down.
A lot of books have made me cry but only a few have made me sobtear stained pagesreaching blindly for a tissue. It is classified as an adult novel instead of young adult like the rest sverlasting the series but it’s not for content reasons You’re hooked from the first page. I stayed up entirely too late reading this book because I could not put it down.
The girls haven’t really kept in touch eberlasting college.
