I was once again swept into the epic life of Gergely, and the amazing battle grdonyi Eger… The first thing you notice is the cover: I liked that the author shows us an Ashura [a Muslim holyday] procession in Stamboul [Constantinople] in detail and writes out the musical notation of one of their songs.

I have always loved history, so this book called to me perfectly. The main historical events that are addressed are the bloodless occupation of Budathe seat of the Hungarian kings, inand the Siege of Eger now in Northern Hungary by the Turks that forms the major topic of the novel.
