The UltraGridExcelExporter does a huge amount of caching which is probably what accounts for the speed difference. One thing you could do is go through this ex;ort and expport any variables which are used more than once. In this block of code you are getting the same cell via the indexer at least 5 times. If you got the cell once and stored it in a variable and then re-used the same cell reference, it would be a lot more efficient.

For another example, you are calling “RGB, ” inside a loop.

If you are always using the same RGB values, then there is no reason to call this method more than once. You can call it once and store infragostics value in a Color variable and re-use it. I think you might be going about this in a much more complicated way than is really neccessary.

I have tried the code in section 2 but nothing changes. There is a limit to the number of rows you can have in an Excel Worksheet. What that limit is depends on what version of Excel you are exporting to.

If you have applied any appearance setting to the grid’s Layout, Band, or Override objects, then you can simply reset these at the layout level.

This layout is a clone used for the export, so you can modify this layout in any way you like and it will affect the export only – it will have no effect on the on-screen grid. If you have appearances applied to individual cells or rows, then you would typically be applying these settings in the InitializeRow event of the grid. In that case, the cloned rows will fire InitializeRow and you will be explicitly applying them to the new cloned export rows.

So all you have to do is avoid that. To do that, you can put a check in the InitializeRow event like so:.
